Hi there, My name is Jacques, and I am a 51-year-old (young at heart) ordained pastor arriving in London from South Africa on September 5. I have been serving the Lord in full-time ministry for the past 10 years. Previously, I lived in London for seven years and became a naturalised British citizen. Due to the increasing socio-political and economic pressures in South Africa, which have significantly affected many churches and ministries, I am currently on a scouting mission—on behalf of my wife and two young children—to explore job opportunities in the UK, wherever God opens a door. I am fluent in both English and Afrikaans, and I have an open spirit, allowing me to connect well with people of various ages. UK immigration rules require me to have been in a permanent job for at least six months before I can apply for a spouse visa for my wife. This means I will likely be separated from my family for a minimum of seven months. Ideally, I would appreciate a period of grace while I search for work, and I am open to any form of accommodation that God provides in His perfect, sovereign will.
