More about the household:
Hey, I am Nate. I am the kind of person who thinks the best conversations happen around a campfire with snacks, stories and someone pretending they know how to light it without firelighters. When I am not working on my apparently legendary lasagne, I am usually being taken for a walk by Jez, my five year old Vizsla. He is a ginger blur with legs and he is fully convinced he runs my life. He is not wrong.
The house is currently home to two house mates. They are both moving out in July and August, so I am looking ahead. I am a Baptist minister and a practising Christian. The house is owned by the church, so it is occasionally used for small meetings or community gatherings. Nothing wild or disruptive. Just the natural flow of a home that sits at the heart of a local church.
I am hoping to find someone or possibly a couple who want to help build a genuine community house. Something relaxed, friendly and real. I am looking for practising Christians who love Jesus and love people. People who can laugh, talk, pray, and also remember to pay a bill on time. Ideally you are the kind of grounded Christian who does not need an angelic visitation to decide what to have for dinner. If you live on earth more than in the clouds, we will get on great.
I enjoy creating a home where people can share food, talk about life or sit quietly with their own thoughts and a mug. I love cooking for people, experimenting with recipes and feeding whoever happens to be in the kitchen. I enjoy photography, especially when I am out walking with Jez, and I love camping and being outdoors. If any of that resonates with you, we will click easily. I value community, but I am also an introvert, so I appreciate people who understand the beauty of peaceful coexisting. If you want to hang out sometimes, head to the gym, watch a film, grab a walk, demolish a lasagne, or head out on an adventure, that is always welcome.
Age wise, someone in their thirties or early forties will probably fit the rhythm of the house best. Someone mature, grounded, friendly and genuinely keen to be part of a shared home rather than disappearing into a room for a year.
The room will be available from the end of July or the beginning of August. The practical side of the let is managed by Justin Hayes, Operations Coordinator at New Park Road Baptist Church, with support from Stirling Ackroyd.
If this sounds like your kind of place, and you do not mind stepping over the occasional dog toy, I would love to hear from you.
