More about the accommodation:

Big house and garden in a small, friendly, leafy village 3 miles West of Cambridge (15 mins by car, 25 mins by bike).

This is a large single room, but large enough to suit a couple if wanted (rent to be negotiated for a couple). It is light, pleasant and West-facing with own ensuite bathroom. There is access to shared kitchen , living room, sitting room, washing machine, piano and very big garden (half acre) including a vegetable patch with raised beds. There's also a bike shed and space to park cars. (There is a potentially a second room available as well, just for short-term rent over the summer, also with its own ensuite bathroom.)

The house is set in the middle of the village, near the recreation ground and other facilities. The village also has a shop, post office, hairdresser, friendly pub, public library, seasonal swimming pool, sports facilities, primary and secondary schools, Doctor's surgery, Baptist Church and Parish Church. There is a bus which goes to and from Cambridge hourly, 6 days a week.

Rent is £486 per month plus bills. Some elements of rent can be negotiable - for example, if you would like to offer domestic duties or garden maintenance in lieu of some of the rent.

More about the household:

Our household comprises a lively family of Mum, Dad and 4 children, plus another adult family member who has a learning disability. Dad works in research and scientific innovation, Mum is a creative writer. Children are aged 9 – 14. We currently have a male lodger, and we also have a friendly, well-trained dog (labrador). We are a Christian household.

We are a typically busy family, but also try to live as an informal community, sharing some meals, and having fun or social times together. We also seek to welcome others, and enjoy socialising generally. We try and eat all together as a household / community at least once a week.

We are looking for lodgers who would enjoy the feel of community living with other Christians, and who could contribute to this. If you have a learning disability, and are looking for somewhere independent and safe to live, we would be open to discussing this, as long as you have your own support arrangements.

Due to the presence of children and a disabled adult, we require a DBS certificate from all lodgers (we can pay for this if you don't already have one).
