My name is Willian dos Santos Flores, I am 39 years old and come from Dourados, in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. I currently work as an administrative officer in higher education, and I am also pursuing a PhD in Agribusiness at the Federal University of Grande Dourados (UFGD). Between October 2025 and March 2026, I will be in Cambridge as a visiting researcher at the Department of Land Economy, University of Cambridge, as part of my doctoral research. I am Brazilian and speak Portuguese, English and Spanish. In my daily life, I enjoy cooking traditional Brazilian food, especially dishes with beef, potatoes and salad. I also like music and play the guitar, enjoy watching football matches, reality shows like MasterChef, and sometimes videogames, although at the moment most of my time is dedicated to academic work. Faith is an important part of my life, and I usually attend church services on Sundays and occasionally during the week. I am looking for a quiet, welcoming place to stay during my time in Cambridge, ideally with people who value harmony, respect and community life. It would be especially meaningful to live in a Christian environment, as this would help me feel at home while I am far from my country. I came across Christian Flatshare thanks to the kind recommendations of Deacon Andrew Haylett from the Cambridge Presbyterian Church and David Austen, both of whom suggested this platform to me via e-mail. I hope to find not only accommodation, but also an environment of fellowship, where I can share meals and conversations while still respecting the quiet moments needed for my research.
