More about the accommodation:
This is a comfy, furnished bedroom in my mid-terrace house. The room gets lots of natural light, especially in the morning, and is nice and warm. The room has a double bed, a desk, bookshelves, and will have a spacious wardrobe before you move in. If you have other furniture needs or preferences, do feel free to ask about changing it.
The house itself has one other bedroom and a shared bathroom upstairs. The living room and dining room are open plan and I am slowly filling them with houseplants! The kitchen at the back of the house is well equipped and has plenty of storage.
The house has a back yard with a shed just big enough for a bike or two. It also has a front garden with a patio perfect for reading in the sun and a little patch of grass. There is off-street parking for two cars.
Sacriston has a few convenience stores, a Tesco Express, a pub, a gym, a handful of cafes, plenty of take-aways, a library and a reliable garage. The house is 5 minutes' walk from some beautiful woods and farmland.
I am 11 minutes from Durham City centre, train station and the university, and buses go there about every 15 minutes. Buses also go regularly to Sunderland, Newcastle, Stanley and Consett. Gateshead is a 20 minute drive away, Newcastle and Darlington are a 30-35 minutes’ drive.

More about the household:
My name is Amelia and I graduated from Durham University a few years ago. I joined Durham Presbyterian Church in my first year of uni, and although always said I would move away after graduating, I couldn’t imagine leaving the church, so I bought a house in the area and have been here ever since!
I’m very friendly, although quite introverted, so when I’m tired I’ll usually hang out by myself, stick my headphones in and read, watch netflix or youtube or play video games.
I really enjoy visiting friends abroad and going to gigs so if I disappear for a few days, it’s safe to say I’m listening to live music or travelling.
My church is quite social, and we will regularly have evenings of whiskey-tasting, bible studies, board games, symposiums or movie marathons.
I’m not a big fan of cooking, so I spend just enough time in the kitchen to keep myself fed and the dishes clean.
I have an elderly, affectionate, chilled out cat called Sophie who loves attention, treats and to curl up next to you while you do your thing. Unfortunately she’s not a fan of other animals, so we wouldn’t be able to welcome another pet into the house.
