More about the accommodation:

Hi!
We’re looking for someone to join our community house in Roath (Cardiff) from September. We’re ideally looking for a male in their 20s/30s to join us - Naomi (27), Imogen (25) & Danny (23) - next month.

For us, much of living in community is about our culture and heart but practically this looks like committing to family rhythms throughout the week such as doing a weekly joint food shop, eating meals together whenever possible and a regular house night, as well as hosting and inviting others to join us at the table.

The house is made up of a main building and an outer ‘coach house’ where the available room will be (please see photos of the house here: www.onthemarket.com/details/8376648/)

The Main House - 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a large kitchen (with an island/breakfast bar, dishwasher and washing machine), a large lounge and a separate dining area which is useful for working from home.

The Coach House - This is a separate space which is unattached to the main house and has its own small “kitchenette”, bathroom and a bedroom upstairs. The room fits a double bed, desk and clothing rail, but the main house has a large attic if more storage is needed.

The house is in a great location just off Albany Road, is a few minutes’ walk from Roath Rec & Pleasure Gardens and a 30 minute walk into the city centre.

The total cost to live here is £550-£600 per month which includes rent, bills, council tax, a weekly food shop, essential household items and hosting.

The rent is £450pp, and then an extra £100-£150 to cover the rest. We have a joint house card which everything comes out of.

The Household

Members: 1 male and 2 females
Age range: 21-30 years old
Occupation: Professionals
Not available The owner is a household member
Not available The household has a married couple
Church attended: Vineyard and Urban Crofters

More about the household:

Naomi works for the Vineyard movement in media & comms and loves people. She is a big fan of the outdoors & beach trips whatever the weather - a wet beach is an empty beach after all. When she’s not with people she’ll be at her piano or with her head in some novel.

Imogen works for a charity supporting young people to teach them essential skills and help to raise their employability. She’s passionate about justice, loves asking big questions and is a dreamer. She is incredible at watercolour and can often be found eating chocolate.

Danny is going into his final year of medicine at Cardiff uni and is passionate about young people, running, tennis and John Mayer. He loves South Africa, can speak a decent amount of Zulu, and is a walking library of fun facts.

Naomi started up the community house 4 years ago with a heart to live with an open door and an open table, to be a place that welcomes the lonely into family and provides a space for people to be seen, heard, known and loved. We live like family in order to invite others into that.

Whilst we’ve moved physical location over those years, the vision has remained and it’s been a wild, wonderful and faith-filled story so far (we’d love to tell you the full thing at some point)!

Our landlords are a lovely family from Vineyard who felt God invite them to buy us a community house in summer 2019 and have been on the journey with us ever since.

Disclaimer - this way of living isn’t for everyone and it might not be the right fit for you/us and so we always pray and seek God about anyone moving into the house. This is the first step in the process.
If you’re at all interested in being a part of the fam, hit us up!
