More about the household:
David and Jenny Rayner are the owners. David is semi-retired but does some professional modelmaking. Jenny is Peterborough Administrator and Empowerment Worker at Hope into Action, a Christian charity enabling churches to house the homeless.
We have three adult children -Julie, with two teenage sons, living in Guildford; Tim, married to Claire, living in Stamford and expecting a baby in December; and Liz, married to Dave, with two sons and two daughters, living in Sheffield. We are very child-friendly, and we have an upstairs family room for visitors.
Chiedza (Chi-chi) rents our downstairs bedsit, but is often away on live-in care assignments.
David is into radio-controlled model aeroplanes (building and flying) and canoeing. Jenny is more of an indoor person, often on the computer, but also dabbles a bit in the garden when she can summon up the energy! To be honest though, her job is also her hobby, and she tends to gather vulnerable people around her, which means that David inevitably gets involved! Jenny enjoys cooking but doesn't always have the time she would like to spend, so the menu is a mixture of convenience foods and her own "concoctions" which can be from any and all cultures. Now Dave is semi-retired, he often cooks and does all the food shopping.
